Klimas Wkret-met employees summarise participation in the BAU 2023 trade fair

From 17 to 22 April, the Messe München exhibition center hosted BAU 2023, the world’s leading exhibition for architecture, building materials, and systems. Among the 2,260 exhibitors, Klimas Wkręt-met presented its offer and the unique KLIMASart gallery. The company’s employees, who co-founded the event, talk about their impressions.

The four-year break did not take away from the prestige of the BAU trade fair. Due to the symbolic strikes at German airports and in the regional and long-distance transport system, the fair did not break the attendance record (around 190,000 visitors). However, they did not prevent another record from being broken: the Munich event featured the largest number of companies ever from as many as 49 countries (another record here).

In an overall summary of the fair, based on a survey by the opinion poll institute Gelszus, 93% of exhibitors rated the fair as good or excellent. 91% also believe that the event has the right trade fair character. 90% of exhibitors gave the highest marks for quality and 89% for the internationality of the visitors. Visitors are also of a similar opinion: as many as 98% of respondents rated the fair as good or excellent.

We asked employees of Klimas Wkręt-met, the country’s largest manufacturer of construction fasteners, who participated in the BAU trade fair, about their subjective feelings and impressions.

Marcin Duzik, Investment Sales Director
We are seeing a big increase in interest in our products. With the dynamically changing geopolitical situation, as a European manufacturer, we are becoming a key choice among suppliers for professional customers when it comes to wood screws, fixings for flat roof systems, and the lightweight housing industry. We are pleased that Klimas Wkręt-met is one of the most recognizable brands, ranking among the world’s largest manufacturers.

Agata Mikulska-Kot, Export Market Director
Every trade fair event is a challenge for me, but also a pleasure. It is phenomenal that we can achieve such important business goals in a few days, make new contacts, and mark our presence on the market. What has always been and continues to be intriguing to me is the diversity that is the domain of industry events. I don’t just mean diversity regarding technology or products, but especially cultural and gender diversity. For me, it is an honor to represent a company where nearly 40% of the workforce is female, which is unprecedented in the industry. We work in international, culturally diverse teams, supporting and learning from each other. The BAU trade fair confirms to me that we achieve such tremendous growth momentum precisely because of this well-thought-out structure of our organization.

Sunil Gurtoo, Managing Director KLIMAS Asia
Firstly, I was very happy to represent a Polish brand on German soil. Secondly, it was gratifying to see the huge response from various countries in Europe, the USA, and Asia and the fact that the visitors appreciated our offer for the construction industry. As a representative of this fastener company, which is still young in the global market, I firmly believe that BAU will make our business stronger globally.

The best thing, however, was that the owner of Klimas Wkręt-met, CEO Wojciech Klimas, was at the stand for four days, which gave confidence to the team and also to our visitors.

The whole event also allowed me to meet our friends from the industry. Overall, the BAU trade fair was an amazing experience for me.

Maciej Strychalski, Marketing Director
Not so long ago, voices could be heard about the end of trade fair events. Despite this, over the past few years, we have pursued our presence strategy to the maximum in all markets of interest, as far as possible, which was dictated by the pandemic. This has been successful on three continents: Europe, Asia, and America. This investment is reaping rewards today, as demonstrated by the huge interest in our product range at the BAU trade fair in Munich. There is no doubt about the importance of this event. Anyone who has had the opportunity to come here in any form: as an exhibitor, visitor, or media representative, will probably agree with me that the trade fair will remain one of the best direct marketing solutions for a long time to come. It is worth noting that both our offer and the exhibition of the #KLIMAS art gallery, consisting of paintings made using the screw art technique, met with excellent reception. Our wood screws, of course, played a starring role. He admits in full knowledge that, although such were the assumptions of the project, the effects exceeded our expectations.

Witold Gleń, Export Manager (Market DE AT CH)
The BAU trade fair in Munich is one of the most prestigious trade fairs in the world. At this year’s event, Klimas presented a wide portfolio of fastening systems in over a dozen categories. The trade partners turned up in force. It was a great pleasure to introduce the Klimas brand to contractors coming from countries ranging from New Zealand to Argentina, Japan, and Canada. Traditionally, the largest group was customers from Europe, especially Germany. A large delegation of partners from India confirmed KLIMAS’ position as a global player. Professional wood products, thermal insulation connectors, and complex systems for ventilated facades were the most popular. Customers were also interested in the ecological aspects of Klimas’ production, the company’s supply chain, and professional advice, which can testify to the maturity of the industry and the demands of customers looking for high-quality products and security of supply. Also in the spotlight was the Klimas art gallery, featuring masterpieces of painting made with professional wood screws. This was probably the most photographed motif at the BAU fair, attracting the attention of hundreds of visitors.

Klimas Wkret-met started this year with very intensive trade fair activities, and BAU in Munich did not disappoint in any respect. It is a huge event organized on 180,000 m2, with more than 2,000 exhibitors in 18 exhibition halls and an excellent turnout. The manufacturer presented its offer and strategy for sustainable construction. It is based on the promotion of eco-friendly timber and modular construction as the best alternative to carbon-intensive traditional materials, as well as sustainable solutions that form the basis of sustainable construction.
